Local Rock Act Inks Record Deal
After three years of playing shows around the state,
recording music, and raising funds for organizations like Bridges Healthcare,
Milford Prevention Council, and To Write Love on Her Arms, Passing Strange is
finally moving up in their musical career.
“It’s the kind of thing every musician dreams of, one
day signing with a record label,” said Kate, who sings and plays piano in the
band. “This is how all my heroes started out, and I’m hoping it’s the first big
step on the road to great things.”
Drummer Anthony
Paolucci had this to say, “We’re hoping that by signing with NeuroTronix, this
will open a lot of doors that might not otherwise be available to us. We’re
excited to be working with Rick (Demko); he believes in our music as much as we
do. With his experience and expertise, we’ll be able to reach even more
people.”
You can check out
Passing Strange’s pre-label album, Come Whatever Storms, on Spotify. And

Valley Baroque/Operatic Rock Duo “Demkovic” Prepare for National Album Release

Shelton
native Suzanne Vick and Seymour resident Richard Demko have been busy in the
studio lately putting the finishing touches on their debut album that is
scheduled to be released on Tuesday March 7, 2017.
The Duo calls
themselves “Demkovic”, and their music is classified as Baroque Operatic
Rock. What exactly is Baroque Operatic
Rock? Primary songwriter Richard Demko
gives us an idea of what to expect.
"Our style
is hard to explain, but to give you an example it’s a mix between Evanescence,
Tori Amos, Faith no More and Living Color," said Demko. "It also encompasses vocal elements similar to hip-hop on the chorus
parts, and powerful, dynamic, flowing, melodies on the verses. You really have to hear it to get the full
scope of what this project exactly is.”
The album will be available on HMG Recordings nation wide on virtually
every major online retailer, and in select brick and mortar stores. Demko states, “We
are extremely excited to be able to have such a huge platform to share our
music.”
“I am very grateful for the opportunity to have such an
amazing, talented group of musicians to help deliver our music live," Demko
added.
The CD
Release Party will be on April 1, 2017 at Café 9- 250 State Street, New Haven
CT. Doors open at 9:00, show starts at
9:30. Tickets are $10.00 at the door, or
available in advance by logging on to cafenine.com. New Haven artist Nick Depuy and fellow HMG
Recording artists Chemical Z will be joining them on the bill.

Local Operatic Rock/ Metal Duo Signs Record Deal with HMG Recordings
| Richard Demko, left, with Vic Steffans, president and CEO of HMG Recordings and Suzanne Vick |
Vocalist and Shelton native Suzanne Vick, and writer/producer Richard Demko, a Seymour resident formally of Monroe, have scored a record deal with West Haven Indie label HMG Recordings. The duo call themselves "DEMKOVIC" and their debut album, entitled "Breathe," is scheduled to be released sometime in the fall of 2016.
Vick and Demko started working together in 2007 when they played in the local funk/jam band, Electric Mayhem. The two eventually left the group due to what Demko describes as "life," but he always knew that he would eventually find himself working with Vick again. After a few years of musical hiatus, Demko started writing again and could think of no one other than Vick to bring his latest batch of songs to life. When asked to describe DEMKOVIC’S musical style Demko said it is "very deep, emotional, operatic rock with elements of heavy guitars, big drums, deep bass, and flowing, dynamic, layered vocals.”
Vick is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Demko again in such a different capacity than their first musical venture. “This project is a creative dream come true for me,” says Vick. “I’m a classically-trained vocalist, but don’t usually get the opportunity to utilize that training or my 4-octave range. Rick’s writing and production push me to expand past what I think I can do vocally and the results are amazing and very satisfying.”
Information about their album release along with tour dates and other information can be found on social media @DEMKOVIC or on the web at www.demkovic.com (coming soon!).
