Treasured Time invites the community to a hilarious dinner theatre show fundraiser on Saturday, May 21 from 6-9 p.m. at the Brownson Country Club, 15 Soundview Ave., Shelton.

“For Better & For Worse” is unpredictable and spontaneous performance that immerses the audience in an interactive theatre experience that takes all the elements of a typical over-the-top Italian American wedding and exaggerates them with hilarious results. Participants are invited to wear their favorite bridesmaid, gangster, or movie star outfit.

“We're very excited to be doing our production for this fantastic organization. Treasured Time has touched many lives and we hope people will come out and support this cause. It’s a complete night of entertainment. You’ll dance, dine, and be delighted,” said Janice Luise-Lutkus, Founder and Executive Director of AspenDream Production.

The event will also feature a silent auction of fun wedding themed packages.

Tickets for dinner and the show are $60 per person, $100 per couple or $400 for a table of eight. There is a cash bar available.

Proceeds support Treasured Time, a not-for-profit organization that grants wishes of parents with life-threatening illnesses who want to create lasting memories with their children.

Show to benefit Seymour Boys Soccer

SEYMOUR - A comedy show to benefit Seymour High School Boys Soccer will be held Sept. 28 at Molto Bene Italian American Kitchen, 557 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia.

The comedy team of Pat Oates and Bryan Beaudoin will headline the show, starting at 8:30 p.m. 

The show will be hosted by Gary Pettinella. 

Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

'The Drowsy Chaperone' heads to Shelton for 5 performances

The talented members of the Shelton-based Youth CONNection will stage this Tony Award-winning musical comedy for five performances at Shelton High School. 
The shows will be performed at 8 p.m. July 26, 27, Aug. 2 and 3, with a 2 p.m. matinee Aug. 3.

Earlier this week I spoke to director Gary Scarpa (who founded the Youth CONNection three decades ago with his wife, Fran) about the production.

The musical sounds like it will be hilariously funny, and a perfect addition to my summer staycation. I'm looking forward to seeing it. The Scarpas always produce a great show.

Seymour church to host evening of drama, comedy

SEYMOUR - The Great Hill United Methodist Church Drama Team will host an evening of drama, comedy, and music from previous productions Saturday.

The event begins at 6 p.m. with a free will offering pasta dinner, followed by “A Biblical Review” at 7 p.m. in Fellowship Hall, 225 Great Hill Road.

The menu includes salad, Great Hill’s famous pasta, warm Italian bread, beverage, and a “dessert to die for.”

The evening of Christian drama will feature six individual performances ranging from a

comedy skit titled “Adam the Adman” followed by three musical skits titled “The No Good Samaritan, “ “Woman at the Well.” and “Caught in Adultery” (Stone Her).

The evening will conclude with the musical score from the Drama Team’s previous successful

performances of Esther “For Such a Time As This” and “Acts of Sinner’s Parade.”

All are welcome to this outreach activity to thank the communities of Seymour and Oxford for their support of Great Hill’s fund-raisers.

Seymour church to present 'Biblical Review'

SEYMOUR - The Great Hill United Methodist Church Drama Team will present a “Biblical

Review” June 1 in Fellowship Hall, 225 Great Hill Road. 
 

           A free pasta dinner will be provided at 6 p.m., followed by the “Review” at 7 p.m.

The “Review” will feature drama, comedy, and musical drama with a message for the whole family. All are invited to watch a variety of skits and mini-plays.

The church is located at the junction of Routes 188 and 334.
