Rotarians dedicate pavilion in Shelton
Derby-Shelton Rotary Club President Mary Ellen Samatulski, second from left, Tuesday cuts a ceremonial ribbon at the club's new 3,000 square-foot pavilion at the Shelton Riverwalk. Next to her is Bertha Belden, the widow of longtime state Rep. Richard O. Belden, a lifelong Shelton resident who died in August 2007. The pavilion was a joint project of the Rotary Club and the city of Shelton. It was dedicated in Belden's memory. At left is Shelton Economic Development Corp. President Jim Ryan and at right is Shelton Mayor Mark A. Lauretti. A plaque on the brick pillar features a portrait of Belden. / Photo by Patricia Villers
