SEYMOUR >> Before joining the Boys & Girls Club last September,
13-year-old John Buzik said he was pretty much failing most of his classes,
hated doing homework, was goofing off in school and heading down a path with
little promise for a bright future.
Fast forward five months, and John has earned his first A on a science test,
heads up a youth leadership program, oversees the finances for the club’s store
and has become an all-around better person.
“The Boys and Girls Club has dramatically changed my life in many ways,” John
told the Board of Selectmen this week, where club officials gave an update of
the exciting things happening.
