ANSONIA >> A school bus carrying 10 Ansonia High School students was apparently rear-ended by a white delivery van Monday afternoon at the corner of Benz and Hill streets.
Superintendent of Schools Carol Merlone was on the scene and said three students were complaining of various injuries. All 10 students were taken to the hospital as a precaution, as was the bus driver, Merlone said.
Ansonia police spokesman Lt. Andrew Cota said the driver of the van, John Marcucio, was found at fault and charged with following too close. Cota said the accident occurred at 12:45 p.m.
Ansonia and Seymour ambulance crews responded, as well as Hilltop Hose Company 5 and Webster Hose Hook and Ladder Company trucks and several Ansonia police vehicles.
