Police in Shelton search for stolen gun

SHELTON >> Police are searching for a semiautomatic handgun stolen from a car parked outside Lincoln Technical Institute, 8 Progress Drive, Lt. Robert Kozlowsky said in a release Tuesday.

At about 10 a.m. Tuesday police were called by a 38-year old student at the school who said he left a firearm in the vehicle when he parked it.
The complainant said the firearm was hidden inside the vehicle, police said.
The student said he went to his car during a break and noticed the vehicle window was smashed and the firearm was stolen.

Police searched the surrounding area but were unable to locate the firearm, Kozlowsky said.
Students were dismissed by school administrators, he said.
