Sharing Code Red alert from Seymour

From First Selectman Kurt Miller's Facebook page:

"This is the text from the Code Red I just sent out:
This is First Selectman Kurt Miller with a storm update utilizing the Code Red System.
Public Work’s crews continue to work around the clock trying to open our roads.
While most main arteries are now open, we have switched our focus to opening at least one lane on all side streets. With the help of several private contractors we are moving along a decent pace. I am still asking that all residents understand that this process is taking much longer than normal.
The volume of snow and the weight are much more than what we usually see. Roads that generally take 10-15 minutes to clear are now taking 4 or 5 times that amount. At this point, I am not able to give specific estimates on individual roads, but we now have a goal of 6 p.m. tonight to have all of the roads passable.
Once we have accomplished this, we will be going back to work on widening and cleaning of the roads. I am asking that people continue to stay off the roads as they are very narrow and it is hard to get two cars by in some spots, especially when one is a plow truck. Each time the plow truck stops, the process of clearing the road is extended. Again, I do know that this has been a long process and people are becoming very frustrated, but please understand we are doing everything we can to get the roads cleared.
As a side note, should you need emergency services, please call the Seymour Police Department at 203-881-7600. I will provide another update on our progress later in the day. Thank you.
