Time to register to bowl a strike against domestic violence

Bowlers, sponsors take note

The registration deadline is quickly approaching for bowlers and sponsors for BHcare’s 25th Annual Bowl-2-Benefit March 9 at AMF Lanes, 1717 Boston Post Road, Milford.

All proceeds benefit domestic violence programs and services throughout the Valley, Greater New Haven and the Shoreline.
Services include emergency shelter, 24-hour crisis hotlines, counseling, advocacy, support and other critical services free of charge for individuals and children affected by domestic violence.

Please join us to “bowl a strike” against domestic violence. Participants of Bowl-2-Benefit raise money for the event by forming bowling teams and collecting pledges.

Bowl sessions are at 9 and 11:30 a.m., 2, 5, or 8 p.m. Sessions are filling up fast. The 5 p.m. session is already full.
Individuals and/or businesses and organizations can also get involved by becoming an event or lane sponsor.
Sponsorships start as low as $75.

According to the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence, more than 20 persons lose their lives to domestic violence in the state of Connecticut annually.
Last year, the Center for Domestic Violence Services provided free emergency safe shelter, 24-hour crisis, counseling, advocacy, support and other crucial services to more than 9,000 battered women and their children.
Decreases in state and federal funding, coupled with increases in demand for services, make fundraising events such as the Bowl-2-Benefit critical to sustaining services for those at risk and in need.

The 25th Annual Bowl-2-Benefit is sponsored by Bassett Brands and by Cox Radio: WPLR 99.1-FM and Star 99.9-FM.
For information or to participate, call Debbie Soulsby, 203-736-2601, ext. 1321 or visit the BHcare website at www.bhcare.org.
Deadline for registration is Feb. 27.
