Snow cleanup in Ansonia announced

ANSONIA - The Department of Public Works will begin snow removal on the West Side of the city, Ward 5, effective Friday.
This process will take a couple of days to complete. Residents are asked to be prepared to move their vehicles.
“Clearing the snow and widening the streets is extremely important for public safety. In addition, the snow banks and ice buildups are wreaking havoc with our water drainage system,” Mayor David S. Cassetti said.
"The current weather conditions make this an ideal time for the city to reclaim the streets for driving safety and parking convenience. I am asking the residents to be prepared to move their vehicles so that the city can do their job in making the streets safer," Cassetti said.
"Unfortunately, the city will have to tow any vehicles that impede the process of removing the snow.  We will do everything we can to try to keep the inconvenience to our residents at a minimum. ”

This is a press release from the mayor's office.
