2 diaper-themed events slated in Seymour to benefit nonprofit

SEYMOUR - Connecticut Partnership for Children will host the first-ever Diaper Dash 5K & Family Fun Run/Walk May 31, which will start and end at Seymour High School. 
This event will take place on a certified course and all participants will be timed. 

Early bird registration, $25, is extended through 11:59 p.m. Sunday (April 6).
Register before that date/time and be automatically entered to win 1) a four-pack of tickets to the current season of the Bridgeport Bluefish; 2) a four-pack of tickets to next season of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers; 3) a $25 gift certificate to the Mad Hatter Boutique in Seymour; 4) a $25 gift certificate to Hot Tamale in Seymour; or 5) four tickets to CTPFC's Breakfast with the Easter Bunny event on April 12

Regular registration begins Monday. Fee is $30.  

Children ages 4 and under are free in strollers. Children who are registering can use the sponsor form on the website to help "raise" their registration fee. 

Form teams, show spirit
Participants are encouraged to form teams and register in groups of five or more (although this is not required for participation). Name your team, wear the same color hat, be creative- show team spirit!

The Diaper Dash 5K will also feature a Children’s Fun Run/Walk at 8:30 a.m. for all registered participants ages 12 and under. Additionally, the event will feature “Stuff-A-Truck” with diapers, so bring a package of diapers to show your support.
The first 500 Diaper Dash registrants will receive a dry-wick T-shirt. All registrants will receive a bag of goodies. 

The Diaper Dash 5K is sponsored by Stop & Shop, BIC, Naugatuck Valley Savings and Loan, WEBE108, Chatfield Rentals & Power Equipment, The Mad Hatter Boutique, Law Offices of Karen A. Fisher, ION Bank, DJ Reggie B, Tina Marie Photography, and Valley Community Foundation. At this time, we are still seeking sponsorships.

'Drive-By' planned
On Saturday, in conjunction with Quinnipiac University’s “Big Event,” volunteers will be posted outside the Diaper Bank’s office at 135 Main St. for the third annual “Diaper Drive-By.” 

Members of the community are invited to donate diapers and wipes at this location, by driving up and dropping off their donation. 
All donors will receive a free gift for participating.
