Kane named to serve as Valley United Way corporator

State Sen. Rob Kane, R-Watertown, has been nominated to serve as a corporator of Valley United Way, Inc.

“Valley United Way has been a leader in the community through involvement in the Volunteer Center, Corporate Volunteer Council, the Youth Leadership Program and the Valley Council for Health & Human Services,” Kane said.
“I am honored to have been nominated, and through my service I look forward to helping make the Valley a better place to live and work.”
 
Kane has represented the 32nd District since 2008. In addition to his hometown of Watertown, his district includes Bethlehem, Bridgewater, Middlebury, Oxford, Roxbury, Seymour, Southbury, Washington and Woodbury. 
 
He is a Senate Deputy Minority Leader, and serves as the leading Republican Senator, or Ranking Member, of the General Assembly’s Appropriations Committee. Also he serves as a member of the Public Health and Regulations Review committees.
Kane is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University and earned an MBA from the University of New Haven. 
He continues to operate the business he founded, KarTele Cellular Phones in Waterbury.
Kane and his wife, Dr. Marcy Kane, are the proud parents of Aidan and Deana.
