DERBY - TEAM is bringing community awareness to
“the Week of the Young Child”, an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association
for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) from April 7-11.
The purpose of this special week is to
focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families along
with recognizing early childhood programs and services that meet those needs.
To celebrate the week, the theme is purple.
TEAM administrators will be reading
in the classrooms, Early Education children will be creating purple displays
and TEAM staff will be wearing purple ribbons to celebrate the week.
On Friday, TEAM’s Early Education
Center in Ansonia will have a special purple dance party for the children, parents
and family.
Families with young children
enrolled in TEAM’s programs are encouraged to participate in as many of the
week’s activities as possible.
David Morgan, Vice President of TEAM, said,
“Early childhood education is vital to
the community. Children need a strong
early learning foundation for success in school and to go on to achieve success
in life. TEAM is proud to be part of that foundation. This week we honor the partnership between
our families and teachers of our Early Education students.”
