Derby library to host patriotic program July 1

DERBY - The Derby Public Library will kick off the July Fourth holiday week with a Patriotic Celebration at 6:30 p.m. July 1.

Musical duo Willie Nininger and Jan Scruggs will entertain and inspire ages 12 and up with music from the 1940s to the '70s as they honor our great country.

Nininger is a versatile singer-songwriter-guitarist, well-known for his extensive repertoire, spontaneous sense of humor, and flat-picking guitar technique.
He has played in clubs and concerts across the United States and Europe.
Nininger performs the national anthem for the N.Y. Mets annually and has appeared on television variety shows.
Scruggs, a lover of harmony, plays guitar and has performed with Nininger up and down the East coast and in England.

Registration is requested. For information, stop by the Library at 313 Elizabeth St., call 203 -736-1482, or visit www.derbypubliclibrary.org.
