| Leland J. Soto III, Griffin's 2013 Physician of the Year |
DERBY – Leland J. Soto III, a surgeon, was named Griffin Hospital’s
2013 Physician of the Year at a recent Nurses’ Week celebration.
The annual award is based on
voting by the hospital’s nursing staff, which selected Soto based on
his compassion, kindness and professionalism.
Soto has been a member of
the Griffin Hospital Medical Staff since 2005 and is also a member of
PriMed Surgical Specialists located in The Hewitt Ambulatory Care Center
at Griffin Hospital, 350 Seymour Ave.
“Dr. Soto always takes the
extra time needed to sit with patients and families and make sure they
understand their care,” Griffin Hospital Vice President of Patient Services Barbara
Stumpo said during an award ceremony.
“He is a patient advocate truly dedicated to his profession. Whenever
called upon by the nursing staff, he quickly responds and will take the
time to answer our questions and will often help young nurses.”
