Ansonia Nature Center to host 'Geology 101,' craft workshop

ANSONIA - Would you like to know what kind of rocks you have found?

At 11 a.m. March 23 Connecticut geology enthusiasts Mike Polletta and Jeremy Zolan will visit the Ansonia Nature and Recreation Center to explain the basics and show fascinating examples of Connecticut's gems.

The program will include a hike to explore the geology of the park at 10 Deerfield Road.

Bring your own mystery rocks to have them identified.

Creative fun for kids
Join Andrea Schmitt from Inner Artist at 1 p.m. March 29 to create fairy and troll houses from natural materials.

This program is geared toward children ages six and older who must be accompanied by an adult.

There is a $5 materials fee.
