ANSONIA - Join permaculture designer Reinaldo Cruz for a three-part course on the evolving field of restoration agriculture scheduled at the Ansonia Nature and Recreation Center.
The first session will be held from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. April 5.
Learn to speed up the transition of degraded landscapes into productive, fertile, bio-diverse systems that humanity and the Earth increasingly need.
Cruz has firsthand experience; he and his family lived off the grid in Puerto Rico using these techniques.
The first session will include an introduction to permaculture, creating an A-frame tool, marking contours, physical development of swales on contours.
Tuition is $25 per session or a discount price of $60 for all three sessions paid on or before April 5.
The center is at 10 Deerfield Road.
