Full moon hike, beekeeping program planned in Ansonia

ANSONIA - Join Ansonia Nature and Recreation Center Rangers Wendy and Martin at 7 p.m. March 15 for a guided full moon hike designed for all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Make use of your  night vision and other senses, and find out why the March full moon is called "the worm moon."

Join beekeeper Dawn Sotir at 1 p.m. March 22 at the Center to learn the basics to start your own bee hive.

Discover the fascinating life history of bees, and observe the queen, workers and drones inside the Nature Center's observation hive.

Fruit and nut trees depend on bees for pollination. Learn how backyard beekeepers are serving an important role in promoting the health of this essential insect.
