Members of Ansonia club learn about careers

ANSONIA - Members of the Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley Joel E. Smilow Clubhouse participated in the Early Planning for College Workshop. They learned how to identify their interest and strengths as a step toward career exploration and become aware of various options for education after high school.

The keynote speaker for the event was school counselor Amanda Cotela, pictured center. Other presenters included Tyler Buster, a senior at Ansonia High School, Daniel Rodriguez, business owner of DJs pizza in Shelton, Shaye Roscoe,  Executive Director of the LNV Boys & Girls Club, Coast Guard Veteran Melinda Reyes of Derby, Patricia Killian, graduate of Platt Technical High School in Milford and college student Marissa Gonzalez.
