5K planned in Oxford in child's memory

OXFORD - Family and friends of the late Lily Ann Brooks have planned a 5K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run July 19 in memory of 3-year old Lily, who passed away last September after a tragic car accident.

Lily’s “Birthday Dash 5K Race & Kids Fun Run” will be a fun family day with a 5K run/walk and separate kids fun run.
Children’s activities such as crafts and face painting will also be a part of the event.

A “Virtual Run” is also being offered for those that can’t make it to the race on this day and want to run or walk.
Free T-shirts will be given to those who register before June 19. The run/walk will start and end at Great Oak Middle School on Great Oak Road.

Walk steps off at 8:30 a.m.; run begins at 9:15 a.m.
Registration is now open through www.runsignup.com.
For more details visit www.lilysbirthdaydash.com. The fee for the 5K runners is $20 for those who pre-register online and $15 for walkers and $25 for the Virtual Run.

The fee for children 12 and under participating in the Kids Run is $10/child. Kids will receive a race bib and capes.
Donations of any amount are gladly accepted and needed to offset the cost of the race.
