Adult ed slates classes in Valley, Monroe

Valley Regional Adult Education’s academic programs will begin the week of Jan. 28.

English as a Second Language class helps students improve reading, writing and speaking English. Registration is at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 22 and 23 at the Adult Learning Center in Shelton and at 6:30 p.m. at the following sites: Derby High School, Seymour High School, Ansonia Middle School, Masuk High School, Monroe and the Adult Learning Center in Shelton.


GED class prepares students in the areas of writing, reading, science, social studies, and math for the state-administered GED exam. Registration is at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 16 and 17 and at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 22 and 23 at the Adult Learning Center in Shelton.

Citizenship class teaches American history and government in preparation for the citizenship test. Registration is at 4 p.m. Jan. 29 at the Adult Learning Center, 415 Howe Ave., Shelton.



In-person registration is required. There is no fee for any of the classes listed above. Limited enrollment is on a first come, first served basis. 
Student must be a resident of Ansonia, Derby, Monroe, Seymour, or Shelton to participate.
