Civil War hero to address Derby Historical Society

DERBY - Shelton resident James Connery, Jr. will portray Derby Civil War hero Col. William Wooster at the Derby Historical Society's annual meeting at 2 p.m. Feb. 10 at First Congregational Church, 137 Derby Ave.

Wooster will discuss his experiences in the Civil War.  Connery is a licensed Gettysburg Battlefield Guide.

A brief business meeting will precede Connery's presentation. There will be an election of officers and board of directors, followed by presentations of the David Humphreys Service Award and the Dorothy Larson Award.

Refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the program. Membership renewals will be accepted at the door.
