Reception at AHS honors Ansonia resident

ANSONIA - I attended a heartwarming event last night at Ansonia High School to honor Naomi Wallace, longtime program director at the Tinney Community Center.

The reception  included a buffet, cake, and lots of love and congratulations for a woman who has dedicated her life to working in the community.

Naomi Wallace

Here she is thanking friends, family, Tinney Center staff and volunteers for their support of her work over the years.
Please excuse the quality of the photo, which I took off a video.

Wallace's passion is working with children. A slide show at the reception featuring the smiling faces of children she calls her "Tinney Center Angels" underscored the love that they give back to her.

Some of the photos are below.

I wish Naomi, who many people know as "Miss RuthE," all the best in her future endeavors.

Event sponsors and committee members included TEAM Inc., Valley Community Foundation, Ansonia Housing Authority employees, Ansonia Branch, NAACP, Dom Golia, Eileen Ehman, Carol Merlone, Diane Stroman, Patricia Tarasovic, Jack Walsh, Elizabeth Kennard, Malika Mosley.

Stay tuned for a story in the paper about the reception.
