Note from Kurt Miller shared

Taken from First Selectman's Facebook page:

"Text from the Code Red Announcement I just made:
This is Seymour First Selectman Kurt Miller with a storm update utilizing the Code Red system.
While I personally apologize that we were unable to hit our goal of 6 p.m., Public Works employees continue to work to open all of the roads in Seymour.
They have put in a tremendous effort over the last few days and deserve our sincere thanks as some of them have not been home to their families since Friday. Tonight, we have finished up on the West side of town and are moving all of our equipment to the East side of town.
While plowing is slow, we continue to make progress. We are expecting that we will have most all roads taken care of this evening. We will unfortunately not be able to finish all roads as some will not be possible to complete for safety reasons.
Some town roads are too steep or too narrow for our larger trucks to handle at this time. Tomorrow we will use a combination of our loaders and smaller trucks to clear those last few streets. I was out for many hours today and will be going out again first thing tomorrow morning to see what we have left.
Again, I ask for everyone’s understanding as we continue to push forward. I will provide more updates on plowing tomorrow. Also, I am asking that folks do not put out their garbage as this will slow the plowing process.
All municipal buildings will be closed tomorrow. Should you have an emergency, please contact the Seymour Police at 203-881-7600. Thank you and have a safe night."
