Soul Funk kicks off Ansonia concert series

The Soul Funk Band performs Wednesday in downtown Ansonia.

ANSONIA - Last evening my husband and I enjoyed the funky music performed by the talented Soul Funk Band. We saw them play last summer and knew we had to return.

It's the second year the Ansonia Cultural Commission is sponsoring the free summer concert series in Veterans Park next to City Hall. Happily the rain held off and everyone there seemed to have a great time dancing and singing along to a variety of songs.

Some scenes from the evening:

Cultural Commission member Jimmy Little and Commission Chairwoman Judy Nicolari get down to some funky music.

Lead vocalist Jonathan Perez sings to an audience member.

Some audience members dancin' the night away.

Next up is the 102nd Army Band concert at 7 p.m. July 24.

See you there!
