Zoomobile to visit Kellogg Center in Derby

Beardsley Zoo's traveling exhibit hits the road


The state's only zoo is coming to communities across Connecticut, beginning Wednesday.

Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo's Zoomobile will entertain and educate audiences at state parks and nature centers with programs presented in partnership with Connecticut's Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, The Sherwood Island State Park Nature Center and the Kellogg Environmental Center.

"While we love having visitors come to us, it's important for us to be active and visible in communities across the state as well,"said Gregg Dancho, Zoo director.
"These programs are designed to engage, educate and inspire audiences of all ages."

SSSensational Snakes: Living Wonders  
The Zoomobile is coming to town! Join Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo to celebrate Connecticut's Year of the Snake. 
This live animal program features exotic, beautiful and fascinating snakes and their relatives from around the world. The Zoomobile is free. Check with venue for admission fees, if any.

Dates and locations include:

Wednesday: 1 to 3 p.m. at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport

July 10, noon to 2 p.m. at Kettletown State Park in Southbury

July 17, noon to 2 p.m. at Kellogg Environmental Center in Derby

July 24, noon to 2 p.m.  at Stratton Brook State Park in Simsbury

Aug. 7 noon to 2 p.m. at Squantz Pond State Park in New Fairfield

Aug. 21 noon to 3 p.m. at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport


Hot Reptiles: Cool Nights 

Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo is traveling to Sherwood Island State Park Nature Center to enjoy some cool nights with hot reptiles.
The live animal program will explore the little-known world of these prehistoric survivors and introduce families to beautiful and endangered reptiles from around the world. These programs are sure to engage, educate and inspire.
The Zoomobile is free. Check with venue for admission fees, if any.

Dates: 6 p.m. July 20 and Aug. 10
