Concert in Derby to precede fireworks display Tuesday
DERBY - Before the start of the Shelton-Derby (or is that Derby-Shelton?) fireworks display above the Housatonic River Tuesday night, the crowd on the Derby side will be entertained by the sounds of the highly-talented The Kathy Thompson Band.
The Milford-based band will be playing in the parking lot of Derby City Hall, starting at 7 p.m.
My husband and I heard the band play last year at the Gazebo on the Derby Green and we really enjoyed its energetic performance. The concerts are sponsored by the Derby Cultural Commission.
I plan to be on hand Tuesday night to hear some more great music, or to quote the the band's motto, to hear "More Funk, Less Junk."
