Pagliaro to chair United Way campaign for third time

Pagliaro

Joseph A. Pagliaro Jr. has been named as the Chairman of the 2012-2013 Community Campaign for a third term with the Valley United Way.
He is the Senior Vice President of the Riverview and Adzima Funeral Homes and has been an active community volunteer leader throughout his career.

Pagliaro has been a member of the campaign cabinet and Valley United Way’s Board of Directors for several years and is actively involved with many other Valley organizations.
He is a board member at the Valley Community Foundation, the Shelton Economic Development Corporation, the Lower Naugatuck Valley Boys & Girls Club, BHcare Foundation Board, and St. Joseph’s High School Advisory Board. He is also a corporator at Griffin Hospital.

Pagliaro is a former member and chair of the Shelton Board of Education. He is also a past member of the board at the Parent Child Resource Center.

A graduate of Sacred Heart University with a B.S. in political science, he graduated from the New England Institute of Embalming with an associate’s degree in applied sciences.

Pagliaro has adopted an old saying from his late father, Joseph Pagliaro Sr., who chaired the 1999 Community Campaign as his theme:  “community matters.”
He said he  believes the Valley is a special place to live and work and that the Community Campaign is an integral part of Valley life.
Pagliaro also feels the key to a successful campaign will be to expand the level of involvement from the community.
To achieve this, the Community Campaign goal is being stretched to $1.2 million to keep up with the allocations and also to improve the level of service our staff gives to the community.

The above was taken from a press release from Valley United Way.
