Finances, local history are program topics at Derby library

DERBY - The Derby Public Library has scheduled Financially Speaking: Save, Shred, or Keep in Case of Emergency,  at 6:30 p.m. April 24.
 
In recognition of Money Smart Week @ Your Library, MaryAnn Vlahac, Marketing Coordinator for TEAM, Inc. will present this one-hour workshop.

She will be addressing such  questions as: What should I keep?  How long should I keep documents?  Which items can be discarded?  How do I create a filing system?  What should I put in a safety deposit box? What should be in my Emergency Financial Records kit?  

Registration is requested. 

Local history: Highways and Byways  
 
The Library has scheduled a local history program at 6:30 p.m. April 30. Local historian Rob Novak  will present Highways and Byways
He will trace the origins, history, and fun facts about some of the regions better known streets and highways. 
Novak has specialized in presenting local history in fun, interactive formats for both general and specialized audiences for more than 20 years. 
He is past director of the Derby Historical Society and current City of Shelton’s Municipal Historian.  In addition, he has authored four books through Arcadia Publications, and has been a popular historical columnist.  

Registration is requested.
