Derby Library hosts 'Spark a Reaction' summer program for teens

Book talks, movies, games on tap
DERBY  - The Derby Public Library hosts Teen Summer Movie Matinees for patrons ages 12 to 17 each Tuesday in July from 3-5 p.m., except July 15 which is from 1-3 p.m.
Participants will have the opportunity to vote on subsequent new-release DVD titles to be shown. This program is part of the Derby Public Library's 2014 “Spark a Reaction” Teen Summer Reading Club. Registration is requested.

YA Wednesdays
The Derby Public Library hosts “YA Wednesdays” from 6-7:30 p.m. each Wednesday in July.
All young adults ages 12 to 17 are invited to a variety of activities, Teen Game Night combined with Lego Construction Project, and Scrabble Tournament. Light refreshments will be provided.

This program is part of the 2014 “Spark a Reaction” Teen Summer Reading Club. Registration is requested.

Book talks
The Derby Public Library hosts Teen Book Talks for young adults ages 12 to 17, Mondays in July, from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
This venue will focus on sharing reviews and opinions on any titles recently read by participants, as well as provide a means to decide upon future reading. Light refreshments will be provided. Registration is requested.
This program is part of the DPL 2014 “Spark a Reaction” Teen Summer Reading Club.


Chess club
The Derby Public Library Teen Chess Club invites all young adults ages 12 to 17 to “Open Chess Call” Mondays in July from 6:30-7:30 p.m. All skill levels are welcome.
