Derby to go pink Tuesday to support breast center

DERBY - The city is going pink on Tuesday in support of The Valley Goes Pink! campaign to benefit The Hewitt Center for Breast Wellness at Griffin Hospital.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Mayor Anthony Staffieri urged schools, city departments, businesses and citizens "to help support this worthy cause and show your support and wear pink and spread the awareness of the importance of early detection in the fight against breast cancer.
"Further, the city of Derby supports those who are courageously fighting breast cancer and honors the lives of those lost to this devastating disease."
