Derby to host luminary lighting to benefit Valley Goes Pink

Ceremony planned on Green

DERBY - The city will hold a Luminary Lighting Ceremony on the Green at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Anyone wishing to purchase a luminary in memory of a loved one or for the encouragement of a loved one or for someone special in their lives is asked to stop by the Town Clerk’s Office or Mayor Anthony Staffieri’s office at City Hall, 1 Elizabeth St.
The price is $3 per luminary.
Proceeds will go to Griffin Hospital's The Valley Goes Pink! campaign, a grassroots initiative launched in 2010 to create awareness about breast cancer and to raise money for the Hewitt Center for Breast Wellness at Griffin Hospital.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
