DERBY - At the confluence of the Housatonic and Naugatuck Rivers a riverside park beckons with picnic tables and river views. Once a gathering place for Native Americans to meet and trade with each other (and with Europeans), this area is awash in history and wildlife.
Join Ansonia Nature Center staff and Connecticut Outdoors at 11 a.m. Sunday for a morning paddle. Participants will enjoy homemade scones and coffee afterwards and return before the heat of the day.
Tuition is $28; includes insurance and all equipment for one person/one kayak; less if you share or have your own boat. Register by Wednesday. Limited enrollment. Checks should be payable to CT Outdoors.
The above is taken from a press release from the Ansonia Nature Center.
A great resource for information in "The Valley" - Connecticut's Naugatuck Valley
