Derby opens Center for showers, charging station
Mayor Staffieri announced today that:
“In coordination with my Emergency Management Office, we have opened the Derby Community Center specifically for those Derby residents who have lost power and are in need of a warming station and a charging station for their electronics. We are asking that you bring your own toiletries and towels for showers and a picture ID.”
The Derby Community Center is located at 35 Fifth St., Derby and will be open for Derby residents without power Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. -9 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The phone number is 203-735-4222.
“We thank you for your patience through this difficult time. As your Mayor, please be assured that I am coordinating with the utility companies, Emergency Management and all City Departments to ensure that City services are restored in a timely fashion."
