The kindness of strangers - and neighbors as well - is evident in Seymour this week as residents are rallying around a family displaced by a fire Sunday at their Pearl Street home.
Officials have not identified the family.
Dee Caruso, the town’s manager of operations and grants, said donations
of clothing, toys, monetary and/or gift cards are being collected at
Seymour Town Hall and Citizens Engine Co. to help the family.
Caruso called residents "stellar" for their immediate response and for their "overwhelming kindness to help the family."
In these tough economic times it is good to see that sense of community and helping others prevails.
Town officials said girls
clothing in sizes 4/5 and 7/8 are needed. Donations may be dropped off at the First Selectman’s Office at Town Hall, 1 First St.
Call the First Selectman’s Office at
203-888-2511 or Kathy at Citizens Engine at 203-465-9321.
