ANSONIA - On Wednesday I chatted by phone with John Denton about his feature film project. An Ansonia High School Class of 2007 grad, he is now living in San Francisco and studying film-making.
The coming of age film Denton is directing is called simply, "Ansonia."
He said he's going to have a booth at the Oct. 5 Ansonia Harvest Festival where he will give out movie posters and other items to promote the project.
Denton, 24, expressed his gratitude for the support city officials have given him.
Film producer Hannah Blackwell will be accompanying Denton.
He said she's looking forward to her first visit to Ansonia and seeing the "small town lifestyle" he has described.
Denton plans to film scenes in Ansonia next June. He said Wakelee Avenue, where his parents reside, is on the list of locations.
Denton said he'll also be launching a Kickstarter page to fund his project.
Stay tuned for more information.
