ANSONIA - Sue Robinson from the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection will present an herbal tea crafting workshop at 2 p.m. Sept. 14 a the Ansonia Nature and Recreation Center.
Program participants will learn about the herbs grown on the premises of the Kellogg Environmental Center, 500 Hawthorne Ave., Derby and they will create tea bags to use for drinking tea.
Participants will learn about the history of teas and herbs such as peppermint, sage and lemon balm. They will also identify the herbs and learn their unique qualities and medicinal uses.
This program is appropriate for all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
The program is free but pre-registration is required; call 203-736-1053. The nature center is at 10 Deerfield Road.
