Derby library offers movies, art classes for teens

   The Derby Public Library hosts Movie Night for patrons ages 11 to 17 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 27.
   This month’s title will be a newly-released feature on DVD. Attendees are invited to enjoy pizza during the show and a film critique afterward.
  Seating is limited and you must be registered no later than June 26.

    This program is part of the DPL 2012 “Balance Your Life” Summer Reading Club and is made possible by the generous sponsorship of the Jane C. and David B. Cohen Fund through the Valley Community Foundation in memory of David B. Cohen.

Learn to draw


   The Derby Public Library invites young adults ages 12 to 17 to a Drawing Workshop from 4-5 p.m. Thursdays, June 28-Aug. 2.

    Valley Arts Council President Richard “ChiD” DiCarlo of Derby will guide participants through the basics and beyond in the development of personal drawing style. Participants will receive instruction on the finer points used by professional artists.
