ANSONIA - The
108th Ansonia Memorial Day Parade will be held starting at 2 p.m. Sunday.
The parade starts at Nolan Field and proceeds along Wakelee
Avenue, down Jackson Street, and over the Maple Street bridge.
The marchers will take a right on Main Street and pass in review at City Hall. It ends at Big Y Shopping Plaza on Main Street.
The parade is in
honor of all veterans and a brief ceremony will be held in front
of City Hall to honor the veterans.
The theme of this years' parade is
“Ansonia's Tribute To Those Who Served and Who are Now Serving Around
the World”.
The parade will feature five divisions, each led by an Ansonia fire company. This years’ Honor Fire Company will be the Charters Hose
Company.
The parade will have several musical units including the Ansonia High
School Band, The Connecticut Hurricanes Corps, New Haven Gaelic Pipe
Band, Washington Park Fife and Drum Corps, Naugatuck High School Band
and others, as well as floats.
There will be shuttle bus service starting at noon from the
