SHELTON - Two veterans from Wesley Village were honored April 26 for their service to the country with a trip to Washington D.C., organized as part of the American Warrior Day of Honor.

Crosby Commons resident Patsy Degennaro, and Wesley Heights resident, Alice Beaver, were flown to Washington, D.C. They were thanked and welcomed by dozens of volunteers, and escorted through the city as honored guests.
They visited the World War II Memorial as well as the Korean, Vietnam, Lincoln, Navy, Air Force, and Marine/Iwo Jima Memorials. Flights, meals, T-shirts, and deluxe motor coach services were provided at no cost to the residents, who returned home on their flight later that same evening.

Wesley Village staff encouraged the residents to apply for the trip and both were selected. The trip
was funded by donations through American Warrior, whose mission is to positively change the lives of our World War II Veterans with a trip to Washington D.C., to visit their long-awaited WWII Memorial.
