3 New York women face credit card fraud charges in Shelton

SHELTON — Three women from the Bronx, N.Y., were arrested late Tuesday afternoon on credit card fraud charges, police said Wednesday.
At about 5 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to TJ Maxx, 865 Bridgeport Ave., on a report of females using fraudulent credit cards to purchase items.
Police said three women went to the register and made transactions with two fraudulent credit cards and purchased approximately $530 worth of merchandise.
Police observed all three women exiting the store and conducted a motor vehicle stop, according to a report.. Police were able to identify all three women along with two children, each less than one year of age, in the vehicle, and they recovered all of the merchandise.
Arrested were Evelyn Arias, 30, and Glenny Rosado, 28, both of Bronx, N.Y., and charged them each with larceny in the sixth degree, illegal use of a credit card, credit card theft, receiving goods obtained by illegal use of a credit card, and risk of injury to a minor.
Police also arrested Erika Vargas, 25, also of the Bronx, and charged her with conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree, conspiracy to commit illegal use of a credit card, conspiracy to commit credit card theft, conspiracy to commit receiving goods obtained by illegal use of a credit card, and risk of injury to a minor.
All three posted a $25,000 bond and are scheduled to appear March 20 at Derby Superior Court.
