Gearing up and getting steamy in Derby

DERBY - The Valley Arts Council's Gallery@37, 37 Elizabeth St., is gearing up for its new Steampunk Art Exhibition: "The Art of Futures Past."
This is an exciting art show featuring a modern-day artistic study of Victorian-era science fiction aesthetic and a retro-futuristic view of the commonplace.
Artists who work in all mediums are in the process of creating some unusual pieces for the exhibit, which runs at the gallery from March 24 to April 21.
There is an opening reception which is open to the public from 6 to 9 p.m. March 24.
There will be special guest appearances by Steam Punk legends, Kady Cross, Author of "The Girl in the Steel Corset" and the Inimitable Dr. Grymm of Dr. Grymm Laboratories!
Don't miss this incredible exhibition. Refreshments and light fare will be served.
