Shelton man arrested over weekend on gun-related charges

SHELTON – A local man is due in court next week after being arrested over the weekend on gun-related charges.
Police responded to a report of numerous gunshots being fired around 1:30 a.m. Sunday on Ridgefield Terrace.
According to police, an investigation led officers to 26 Ridgefield Terrace, where they spoke to the homeowner who initially told police he also heard gunshots but wasn’t sure where they came from.
Police later found several spent ammunition casings at the property, as well as firearms inside the home.
The homeowner, Zygmunt Mysliwiec, 58, was arrested and charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm, carrying a firearm under the influence, interfering with an officer and breach of peace in the second degree.
He was released on $10,000 bail and is due in Derby Court on March 19.
