DERBY — A new restaurant with what promises to be a unique menu will be opening soon downtown.
The Gourmet Cafe is moving into the Plaza on the Green on Elizabeth Street. The location was most recently home to Sam’s Breakfast and Lunch, which closed in the fall.
Bridgeport resident Tanya Skeeter is the owner/head chef.
On Thursday, she was wearing a white cap that reads “The Salad Lady.”
Skeeter has owned The Salad Experience, a take-out place in Bridgeport for eight years. Customers nicknamed her “The Salad Lady” for the special salads she creates.
