SEYMOUR — First Selectman Kurt Miller has proposed a $52 million budget for fiscal 2013, a 3.7 percent increase with about $250,000 in new initiatives.
“We’ve been putting off funding some of these initiatives for so long that they’re starting to have a negative impact on the town,” Miller said. “We have to be more efficient, and this budget includes funding for human resources and technology, which are two big areas for me that need to be addressed.”
Miller’s proposal includes $16.6 million for town operations, $4.9 million for debt service and $30.8 million for education.
