DERBY — A local mother-daughter duo’s red carpet dreams are becoming a reality.
The handcrafted jewelry that Sandy and Stevie D’Andrea create out of their home-based business, Jewels for Hope, is headed for Hollywood.
To be more precise, 100 bracelets the D’Andreas crafted from colorful Swarovski crystals will be donated and included in the goody bags — or “swag bags” — that celebrities will walk away with during a luxury gift lounge event at the W Hotel in Hollywood. The event will take place Feb. 24-25, just prior to the 84th annual Academy Awards.
