Shelton police officer hit by car mirror while on private duty job

SHELTON – An officer on a private duty job was injured when his hand was hit by a vehicle’s passenger-side mirror as he directed traffic Wednesday, police said today.
Officer John Giordano was directing traffic on Coram Avenue and Myrtle Street when the mirror on a car driven by Heng Wang, 87, of Shelton hit his hand. Wang was issued an infraction ticket and charged with striking an officer with a motor vehicle.
Giordano was treated for his injuries and later released.
