The project is in the concept stage and may be recommended for construction under the Surface Transportation Program administered by the state Department of Transportation. The project, if supported by the community and Derby officials, will be designed by a qualified engineering firm selected by the city.
An informational meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 16 in aldermanic chambers at City Hall, 1 Elizabeth St.
Topics of discussion will include the schedule for construction and potential effects on traffic flow.
Construction cost will be about $1.633 million, with 80 percent reimbursed by the Federal Highway Administration, 10 percent by the state and 10 from the city.
