ANSONIA - Department of Public Works employee James Hooker, 49, was arrested at the police station Wednesday in connection with the theft of a snowplow.
Police said Thursday there was a warrant for Hooker, of Ansonia, who turned himself in.
Hooker was charged with sixth-degree larceny and was released on a promise to appear April 18 in Superior Court, Derby.
The arrest follows a complaint about the theft of a plow from the Public Works Complex.
Police had applied for the warrant March 26 in Superior Court. It was returned Wednesday.
Earlier this week, the Board of Public Works voted to suspend Hooker for 30 days without pay, amid allegations of a theft from the DPW garage.
The case is now closed, police said.
