The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has backed Joe Jaumann the Republican and Independent candidate for State Representative in the 104th district.

“As a small business owner and Aldermen in Ansonia, I have worked hard to recharge our local economy,” said Jaumann. “The decisions made by Governor Dan Malloy and the majority have gotten in our way. But, as we do in Ansonia and in the Valley we don’t back down from a challenge. Derby RTC Endorses Candidates

DERBY – The Derby Republican Town Committee gathered on September 5, 2018 to fully endorse the candidates representing the towns and cities of Derby, Ansonia, Seymour, Naugatuck, Beacon Falls, Bethany, Hamden, Woodbridge and Orange.

Attorney Joseph Jaumann is seeking election to the 104th District.  Joe joins Senator George Logan, House Republican Leader Themis Klarides  and State Representative Nicole Klarides-Ditria all seeking re-election this November.

Jaumann Receives Endorsement from State's Independent Party

ANSONIA - Joe Jaumann has received the unanimous endorsement of the Independent Party of Connecticut, which will place him on both the Republican and Independent lines for the November election.

 

"It's an honor to receive the backing of the Independent Party of Connecticut in my run for State Representative," said Jaumann. "I received the backing of the Independent Party and the Republican Party because I am not beholden to a single party, or any special interest groups. If

we are going to change the state of Connecticut, we need to elected officials who are not afraid to think outside of the box, listen to all sides, and work towards common sense solutions, while putting the taxpayers of Connecticut first."

 

Jaumann continued, "The residents of the 104th district deserve someone who will place the needs of the residents of Ansonia and Derby ahead of any party agenda. As an Alderman, I took the lead pushing for our communities in the 104th district to study Regionalization and shared services so we can find ways to become more efficient while at the same time trying to

increase quality. These are types of ideas transcend parties’ lines and I am very proud to have

Jaumann is an attorney and small business owner who lives in the 104th district with his wife

Crystal, and four children, the eldest of whom is currently serving proudly overseas in the United

States Marine Corp. He currently serves as an Alderman in Ansonia’s 5th Ward.

Derby RTC Endorses Jaumann

DERBY - At a recent Derby Republican Town Committee meeting, Joe Jaumann, the Republican candidate for State Representative in the 104th District received the unanimous endorsement of the Town Committee membership.

Jaumann during his speech to the town Committee emphasized that focus has to be on the economy and protecting the hardworking families of our communities from the tax and tax more mentality from Hartford.

“The hardworking men, woman and families of the 104th district cannot afford to pay any more in taxes," said Jaumann. "We need a State Representative from the 104th who will be focused on protecting the taxpayers and not working against them.”
 
Mayor Dziekan added, “Joe has been an outspoken leader on making government better and more efficient. He has led the charge on regionalization and shared services between Ansonia and Derby, and was instrumental in establishing the temporary school study regionalization committee.”

Jaumann thanked Mayor Dziekan, Chairman Pollastro and all of the Derby Town Committee members for their support.

ANSONIA - At a recent Ansonia Republican Town Committee meeting, Mayor David Cassetti asked the more than 30 members present to endorse Joseph Jaumann, 5th Ward Alderman to be the Republican candidate for State Representative of the 104th district.  Cassetti praised Jaumann for his hard work and strong leadership before the Ansonia Republican Town Committee and unanimously endorsed Jaumann.

Ansonia Alderman Applauds Valley Regionalization Study

(The following is is a letter from Ansonia Alderman Joseph Jaumann)

ANSONIA - As many of you know, Mayor Cassetti and I, as well as the Ansonia Board of Alderman have been discussing this study, as well as regionalization and shared services for many years.  As we continue to see funding from the State decrease, we must be proactive as a municipality and as a region, in protecting ourselves, our children, and our communities.  Working together we can study how to achieve greater efficiencies, better quality services, and greater availability of programs in our schools.
 

The Shelton Board of Education voted earlier this week to ask their Board of Alderman to join in the regionalization study that was approved in Ansonia in February.  I want to applaud the Shelton Board of Education and Shelton’s Mayor, Mark Lauretti for choosing to join Ansonia and Derby in the regionalization study. 

After many years of discussions regarding shared services and regionalization, the valley communities are finally coming together to discuss how we can all work together for the benefit of all the Naugatuck Valley.   With Shelton now choosing to join Ansonia and Derby, we now look to our good friends in Seymour and their First Selectman Kurt Miller to also join the study.  We hope to hear that announcement in the coming days.

Jaumann Kicks Off Run for State Rep Seat

 

ANSONIA- On Tuesday, March 6th, Joe Jaumann announced his run for State Representative of the 104th District at the site of Farrell Pomini’s new building at the Fountain Lake industrial Park . Farrell Corporation has a 150 year manufacturing history in Ansnia and the Valley.

“We are at Fountain Lake, because from this vantage point we have a view of much of the 104^th district which includes Derby and Ansonia and because this site is representative of what can happen when a municipality works with private development and when you incentivize economic development.” said Jaumann

“Im not going to Hartford to talk. I'm going there to get things done for the hard working people of the 104th District. Farrel-Pomini Corporation was fleeing Ansonia and the Valley taking with them over 100 manufacturing jobs. To lose them would have been devastating. Ansonia fought to keep them and to retain valuable jobs. That was done through the swift actions of elected officials and I was proud to be a part of that. I learned how to create the kinds of partnerships and incentives needed to retain and increase jobs. That’s  exactly what I’m going to do in Hartford.  I’m going to help save jobs and help restore our economy. We are in desperate shape in Connecticut and we need decisive leaders who are willing to move swiftly to help our taxpayers.” 

As an attorney, Jaumann has spent years advocating for the rights and for the liberties of his clients. From the elderly struggling on a fixed income to meet their financial obligations, to young people and families seeking work and decent paying jobs, Jaumann has delivered. He fights for his clients and he will fight for the residents of Ansonia and Derby.

As an alderman, Jaumann has advocated for the taxpayers and students. Most recently, he spearheaded the movement to study regionalization in our schools.

“By studying regionalization now, we can become more efficient and less dependent on Hartford in the future.” said Jaumann.

While serving on numerous boards like Planning and Zoning Jaumann made difficult decisions that helped bring development into the Valley.

“I want to make life easier for the constituents of the 104th. Taxes are too high and unemployment is high," he said. "I’ll work for everyone in Hartford to bring a better quality of life for all residents. It’s time to lesson the burden on the taxpayer. That will be my priority.”

Ansonia and Derby need someone who is no stranger to rolling up his sleeves, making tough decisions and getting teal results.

Ansonia Mayor Endorses Candidates

As Mayor of Ansonia, I am grateful for the support that the city has received from state legislators Joseph Crisco and Linda Gentile over the past two decades. However, it is clear that the residents of our great city – and of Connecticut in general – would be well served by a change in direction.  It is simply the right moment to pass the baton to a new generation of leaders and to embrace a fresh approach to fixing our state’s problems.

 

For this reason I have decided to endorse two Ansonia residents seeking state o(ce: George Logan for 17th District State Senate and Joseph Jaumann for 104th District State Representative.

 

I believe that both candidates will serve as strong advocates for the City of Ansonia and fight for policies that will have a meaningful impact on our community. Specifically, I applaud their

positions on reducing state taxes, addressing the inequalities in the state’s education funding system and creating a business friendly environment to attract jobs and investment back to Connecticut.

 

In George Logan I see an experienced business executive with the know-how to develop sound budgets and innovative solutions. He is a proven leader capable of pulling Hartford from the swamp of red-tape and bureaucracy it finds itself sinking in. Mr. Logan boasts a resume that evinces a commitment to community service and local volunteerism, from his work on the Griffin Hospital and YMCA Board of Directors to his time as a youth basketball coach.

 

With respect to Joseph Jaumann, I am impressed by his commitment to combatting excessive

taxation and eliminating the obstacles that deter job-making business investments from our state. Mr. Jaumann has already demonstrated a passion for fostering smart economic growth as Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission. I am confident that he will bring that same philosophy to Hartford. Mr.Jaumann’ s background as a successful attorney and litagator has also equipped him with the skills necessary to take on the status quo attitudes prevalent in our state legislature.

Just weeks after qualifying, candidate Joe Jaumann (State Representative 104th District Ansonia/Derby) is wasting no time on the campaign trail.

On Sept. 1, Mr. Jaumann received yet another endorsement; this one coming from Chairman Irving Reed and the Ansonia Republican Town Committee (ARTC).

CT Independent Party Endorses Jaumann

 

ANSONIA/DERBY- The Connecticut Independent Party has endorsed Republican Joseph

Jaumann for State Representative in the 104th District.

 

Jaumann, a political newcomer, is a local attorney and chairman of the Ansonia Planning and Zoning Commission, and his name will now appear on both the Republican and Independent ballot lines on Election Day.

 

“I’m proud to be endorsed by both the Republican and Independent parties and I look forward to

serving the residents of our great community,” said Jaumann. “The Independent Party’s goal of

non-partisan problem solving is the same approach that I believe in, and it is same the approach

that we need in Hartford to move Connecticut in the right direction.”

 

The Independent Party is the third-largest political party in Connecticut and has endorsed many

candidates across the state this year.

 

It is estimated that Connecticut will face another budget deficit in the 2017 legislative session.

In 2011 and 2015, Rep. Gentile sided with Gov. Malloy, and voted for the two largest taxes in

state history.

 

To that point, Jaumann added,

 

“We need a new start. A leader who will be independent minded and a voice of the people of Ansonia and Derby, and not simply a rubber stamp for the Governor. It is clear that the policy of raising taxes and borrowing to pay for the state’s spending problem isn’t working. We need to have and open and honest discussion about our budget and not wait till the 11th hour to have the conversation. We need to tackle the budget problems in this state head on starting on the first day of the session, so we can start focusing on the future and our children’s futures."

Jaumann Qualifies for Citizens Election Program

ANSONIA/DERBY- Political newcomer, Valley-area attorney and Ansonia resident Joseph A.

Jaumann announced today that he qualified for the Citizen’s Election Program (CEP) grant. The

program, designed to eliminate special interest money from Connecticut campaigns, requires a candidate to raise $5,000.00 from at least 150 residents of Derby and Ansonia. The maximum donation allowed is $100.00. 

“Qualifying for the CEP grant in such a short period of time like we have is a testament to the people of the 104th wanting change” Jaumann said. “The support we have received up to this point has been amazing. The people want change, and this grant ensures that we will be fighting to bring about that change every day from now until November 8th!”

 

Jaumann continued “Over the past 6 years, we have seen the leadership in this state mishandle the budget, raise our taxes, and continue to grow the size of government well beyond our means to support it. Well enough is enough! The elected officials that made these bad decisions need to be held accountable.”

 

Jaumann is one of the cofounders of the law firm of Drapp & Jaumann, LLC. He serves as

Chairman of Ansonia’s Planning and Zoning Commission, is a member of the Economic

Development Commission, and sits as a hearing officer for Ansonia hearing blight appeals. He is

the former chairman of Ansonia’s Zoning Board of Appeals, having been appointed by Mayor

James Della Volpe. He is also member of the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce.

104th District Candidate Urges Rejection of Vehicle Mileage Tax

ANSONIA/DERBY- Attorney Joseph A. Jaumann, candidate for State Representative in the104th District, announced today that he is calling on legislative candidates seeking office to join him in his petition to the Governor to not only reject the vehicle mileage tax, but to return the funds received from the federal government to study a vehicle mileage tax, or alternatively, to withdraw the application submitted to the federal government for such funding.

Jaumann noted that both parties seem to have rejected the concept of a vehicle mileage tax. In recent days, both Representative Gentile and Senator Crisco have issued press releases stating that they are opposed to a vehicle mileage tax. 

 

Jaumann stated “It’s not enough. We can no longer afford to squander the hard-earned taxpayers’ money to study something our legislators themselves say they have no intention of implementing.

For far too long, government at all levels has haphazardly spent the money entrusted to them by the taxpayers. There is no state money or federal money – there is only the taxpayers’ money. If, as our legislators have stated, there is no intention to implement such a tax, then we should withdraw our application for the grant or send the money back. We should not be wasting taxpayers’ money to study something that has no chance of becoming law.”

“When elected, I pledge to do everything I can to prevent the government from wasting taxpayers’ money. That’s why I am calling on all candidates who are in or seeking legislative offices to join my petition to Governor Malloy to reject the concept of a vehicle mileage tax outright and not accept any federal funding to study such a tax. Then we will know whether the opposition to a vehicle mileage tax is real, or just empty words in an election year.”
