Bring your tech-related questions to Tech Time at Derby Public Library

DERBY >> The Derby Public Library has changed the format of its monthly Tech Time sessions. Now on every third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. and every third Thursday of the month at 10 a.m. a staff member will be on hand to answer all your tech-related questions and concerns. Whether you are having trouble downloading e-books, searching databases, completing on-line job applications, scanning/sending documents and photos, etc., your problems will be addressed.

February’s sessions will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 6:30 p.m. and Thursday, Feb. 19 at 10 a.m.  No registration is needed.

Tech Time: Learn photo editing, scanning at Derby Public Library

DERBY >> The Derby Public Library holds Tech Time sessions every third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. and every third Thursday of the month at 10 a.m.

A variety of topics are covered on a revolving basis. On Wednesday, Nov. 19 and Thursday, Nov. 20 the topic will be Photo Editing/Scanning. Techniques on how to improve the quality and usability of existing electronic photographs, as well as how to best create electronic versions of printed photos will be shown. Ideas for future topics are welcomed.

No reservations are accepted and there is a seven seat limit per class.

Tech Time on tap at Derby Public Library

 DERBY - The Derby Public Library will hold Tech Time sessions at 6:30 p.m. every third Wednesday of the month and at 10 a.m. every third Thursday of the month.

There will be a variety of topics covered on a revolving basis. 

On Aug. 20 and 21 the topic will be Web-Browser Selection.  

Areas covered will be the definition of a web-browser, differences between Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, and web-browser installation. 

Ideas for future topics are welcomed.

Derby Library to host Tech Time, cooking demonstration


          DERBY - The Derby Public Library will hold Tech Time sessions every third Wednesday of
the month at 6:30 p.m. and every third Thursday of the month at 10 a.m. 
          There will be a variety of topics covered on a revolving basis.
           On July 16 and 17 the topic will be Online Job Applications. Areas covered will include the need for cover letters, submission of non-required information, and best ways to follow-up. Ideas for future topics are welcomed.

No reservations are accepted and there is a seven-seat limit per class. 

Cooking demonstration
         DERBY - The Library has scheduled a cooking demo at 6:30 p.m. July 21.
         The topic will be Simple Summer Make-Ahead Meals. 

         Stacey Ference of Savour Catering will show participants how to enjoy all of the summer’s
activities while also serving some great meals. There will be samples of all demonstrated
foods. The class is for ages 18 years and older. Registration is required.

DERBY - The Derby Public Library will hold Tech Time sessions every third Wednesday of

Areas covered will include understanding the basics, frequently asked questions, and integrated uses across the three applications.

Derby Public Library to host Career Coach, Tech Time


    DERBY - The CT Works Career Coach returns to the Derby Public Library from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 17.

    During both the morning session, 10 a.m.-noon, and the afternoon session, 1-3 p.m., instructors will offer Job Search Assistance.

   Learn where to look for jobs, how to get the job you want, and how to search for jobs on the Internet.

   The workshop is free and open to the public.

   Registration is requested but walk-ins will be welcomed on a first come first served basis.
 
   The CT Works Career Coach is a project of The WorkPlace, Inc. operated by Career Resources.
